Vercertus is a data science practice founded in 2026 by three data scientists who kept seeing the same thing: capable businesses making hard calls without the tools that were right there to help.
The three of us met over data science and kept noticing the same gap. Good businesses, competent and well-run ones, were making important decisions on gut and habit, even when the data and the methods to decide better already existed and should have been in use. What they were missing was translation: someone to sit between what the tools can do and how the business actually runs on a Tuesday.
We also saw teams stretched thin, doing by hand what a well-built system could carry.
Overstretched teams don't need fewer humans. They need fewer hours lost to work a machine should be doing.
So we started Vercertus to do the whole job: learn how a business works, build the data science, and then translate it into something the team uses, not a proof of concept that dies in a folder.
Vercertus is deliberately a three-person practice: data scientists with master's degrees in data science from Virginia Tech, whose working backgrounds span defense contracting, higher-education data science, and business advisory. That range means we come at problems from more than one direction, and staying small means every engagement gets senior attention from the first conversation to the handover.
It also shapes how we ask to be evaluated: on the work itself. Our project write-ups are open to read, we'll walk through any of them in detail, and discovery is free so the first thing you judge is our thinking on your problem.
Sincerely, the three of us
The few ideas that shape what we take on and how we build it.
We don't arrive with a template to install. Every engagement starts with discovery, and what we build is shaped around how your business runs.
Automation should enhance your people, not replace them. We build tools that give your team back their time and their judgment.
If a result won't change a decision or improve a process, it isn't worth building. We'd rather tell you that in a free session than sell you a project that looks impressive and changes nothing.
No account layer, no handoff to juniors. The people who scope your problem are the people who build the solution.
We start by understanding your business and your data, often helping you collect it if there isn't any yet, before proposing anything technical.
Most firms stop at the model. We're built for the part after: turning it into a used tool, training your team, and handing over.
The first session costs nothing, work is scoped and priced against a real problem, and we'll tell you plainly when data science isn't the answer.

The first session is free, and it's a real working conversation.
